Scottish Country Dancers

Scottish Country Dancing is the traditional social dancing of Scotland. Think of it as a cross between square or contra dancing (although there is no caller) and ballet. Country dances are danced with partners in sets of two or more people doing an exciting variety of formations. There are about a dozen basic figures which will get you through most dances. The dances vary in tempo including lively Reels and Jigs, and the more elegant Strathspey.

We have weekly classes in both Western and Eastern Idaho. Please see the link for classes in each location. We warmly invite you to join us if you can! Beginners are welcome, no partner is required, all dances are taught, and an enjoyable time among pleasant people is the standard.
